This beautiful hand-painted Russian lacquer miniature was created by the famous artist Zotov in the village of Fedoskino.

Zotov's amazing talents extend well beyond his amazing ability to depict accurate detailing. Zotov skillfully creates each of his works first as a unique shape and then as a hand-painted miniature.

Of note in this piece are the sparkling flowers and shimmering fabrics worn by the subjects, with gold leaf and mother-of pearl highlights. Each shining line is painted utilizing tempera, a special mixture of gold-dust, crushed egg shells and water.
